Worldwide, our coral reefs are being threatened. Unethical and unsustainable harvesting practises for the aquarium and tourism trade, pollution and coral bleaching have all lead to serious environmental challenges that need to be addressed if our reefs are to be saved for future generations.

At Reef Culture we believe it is every aquarist’s responsibility to contribute to the restoration and preservation of our coral reefs. Whether it is a hands on approach or just growing a couple of frags in their tank, it must be remembered that for every coral you grow it saves at least one from being harvested out of the ocean.

Most local aquarium stores will at the very least give you store credit for the ‘frags’ you grow. This is a win-win situation, as you are getting credit for future purchases and the stores are getting healthy local corals that are accustomed to aquarium life.

Not only that, the carbon footprint and DOA's would be much lower than flying coral in from half way round the world!
